Reduction of Incorporation Fee and Annual Return Fee Effective April 1st, 2001

Effective April 1^st, 2001, the schedule of fees under the Canada Business Corporations Act (CBCA) and related regulations will be modified. Fees for a certificate of incorporation ("the incorporation fee") under section 8 and for the filing of the annual return ("the annual return fee") under subsection 263(1) will be reduced. The fee changes will be as follows:

• the incorporation fee will be reduced to $250, from $500; and
• the annual return fee will be reduced to $40, from $50.

For transactions completed through Corporations Directorate Electronic Filing Centre which is on Corporations Directorate's website, the following fees will apply:

• the incorporation fee will be $200; and
• the annual return fee will be $20.
