STR-SpeechTech Ltd. is an advanced research and
development company dedicated to the design and delivery of
practical speech technology software products. The company
develops software systems for digital processing of audio
signals, with emphasis on speech signals. Two of
STR's most popular products are StarCaster and StarReporter.
StarCaster is a text-to-speech system that provides
broadcast-quality voice output with optional speech recognition
and interactive voice response (IVR) capabilities. StarCaster
technology is currently in use by Environment Canada at Weather
Centres across Canada; by NAV CANADA in Gander,
Newfoundland; by NAV CANADA at over 30 airports across Canada;
at the Australian Bureau of Meteorology in Melbourne,
Australia;
by the US National Weather Service in Anchorage, Alaska; by
the US Federal Aviation Administration in Islip, New York and
in 3 regions in Alaska. A StarCaster product named StarCaster
ATIS is also currently in use by the US Air Force at various
locations across the US.
StarReporter is a high quality speech editor for data capture,
processing and compression of audio files, for the
Telecommunications and Multimedia industries.
STR has also partnered with KAY Elemetrics Corp. of New Jersey
for over 15 years for the development of the CSL-Computerized
Speech Lab, a high quality speech and signal analysis package
used in research and clinical applications, that has become the
accepted standard worldwide.
