HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR IN COUNCIL, on the recommendation of the Minister of Agriculture and the Treasury Board, pursuant to Vote 35 of the Estimates of the Department of Agriculture referred to in section 2 of Appropriation Act No. 2, 1974, and any other Appropriation Act authorizing payments pursuant to that Vote, is pleased hereby to approve the annexed terms and conditions respecting compensation to owners of animals that have died as a result of anthrax.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS RESPECTING THE PAYMENT OF COMPENSATION
TO OWNERS OF ANIMALS THAT HAVE DIED AS A RESULT OF ANTHRAX

Short Title

1. These terms and conditions may be cited as the Anthrax Compensation Terms and Conditions.

Interpretation

2. In these terms and conditions,

"Minister" means the Minister of Agriculture.

Contribution

3. Subject to sections 4 and 5, the Minister may pay compensation to the owners of animals that have died as a result of anthrax.

4. The maximum of compensation per animal that the Minister may pay is

(a) for cattle, $500;
(b) for horses, $350;
(c) for sheep, $100;
(d) for swine, $100; and
(e) for goats, $100.

5. No payments of compensation in respect of an animal shall be made by the Minister unless the Minister has received a certificate signed by a veterinary inspector under the Animal Contagious Diseases Act certifying that

(a) the animal died as a result of anthrax; and
(b) the premises where the animal died have been cleaned and disinfected.
