Swede midge (Contarinia nasturtii), a pest
of "Brassica" crops such as broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, radish and canola,
has been found in eight municipalities in Ontario. It is the first time this pest has been
reported in North America. Swede midge is a small (1.5-2 mm) fly that attacks plants from
the Brassicaceae family, i.e. broccoli, cauliflower,
radish, cabbages, turnips, canola, and related species. |
