Telia are produced on stems, green shoots and leaves of
Juniperus spp. in
the spring. In moist conditions these germinate where they are, and produce
basidiospores which are dispersed and can infect available Malus spp. Basidiospores which
infect Malus spp.
produce pycnia on the upper surfaces of the leaves, from late spring to early
summer. As the season progresses, aeciospores are produced in tube-shaped
peridia on the undersides of Malus spp. leaves |
