The most common symptom is brown rot of apple and pear. Not all
apple varieties are equally susceptible. Superficial circular brown lesions are
frequent on wounds, expanding outwardly on the surface of the fruit, and result
in a soft decay of the flesh. Infected apples may be shiny and turn from tan to
black as the disease develops.
Hosts: Grape (Vitis), apple (Malus), peach and plum (Prunus), and pear (Pyrus).
