Description of Services

We provide the Duty Counsel lawyers at Provincial Court in Sussex, Hampton, Saint John and St. Stephen in both adult and youth courts. We provide lawyers for trials to successful applicants for serious criminal charges and for parents when the Department of Health and Community Services is applying for permanent custody of the child/children.
Criteria for Service Eligibility
Applicant must be financially eligible to obtain Legal Aid for trials.
Application Procedures for your Organization's Programs/Services
Applications for Legal Aid are completed by the applicant in the Legal Aid office. It is preferred that the applicant make an appointment.
