Our Parliamentary Secretary

Christian Paradis, M.P.
Mégantic–L'Érable (Quebec)

Christian Paradis was appointed Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Natural Resources by Prime Minister Stephen Harper on February 7, 2006.

Before he was elected Member of Parliament for Mégantic–L'Érable (Quebec) in January 2006, Mr. Paradis was President of the Chambre de Commerce et d'industrie de l'Amiante from 2004 to 2005.

Born in Thetford Mines in 1974, Mr. Paradis graduated from Sherbrooke University with a Bachelor of Law and then obtained a Masters in Corporate Law from Laval University. He has been a member of the Quebec bar since 1997 and practised law in Thetford Mines.

Mr. Paradis is an active member of the Rotary Club and has been involved with the Knights of Columbus and other community groups and organizations. He and his wife, Julie Roberge, have two sons and a daughter.
