Trailblazers

NRCan's chronicles are filled with interesting, award-winning, internationally recognized individuals who, in unique ways, have made NRCan what it is today and what it will become tomorrow. The list below represents the first in a series of Trailblazers who have contributed to the beginnings, development or advancement of our department. Each month we will highlight the accomplishments of one individual.

Trailblazer of the month: Barbara Mullally Pauly

Barbara Mullally Pauly was energy-minded before the issue came into public consciousness. "I’ve always been a committed environmentalist," Barbara says. For 10 years she lived on a farm, with just a windmill to provide energy. "We used power very selectively, only running appliances and using lighting when we really needed them."
