The Energy Council of Canada is the Canadian national member of the World Energy Council, and is made up of representatives from all facets of Canada's energy sector.
The Energy Council of Canada is a vehicle for strategic thinking, networking and action by senior executives in the private and public sectors who have a broad interest in national, continental and global energy issues. The Energy Council seeks to forge a better understanding of energy issues, in order to optimally shape the energy sector for the benefit of all Canadians.

The 2006 Executive Energy Forum will be held at the Fairmont Tremblant, in Mont Tremblant, Quebec. This location is very convenient to both Ottawa and Montreal, and will provide an excellent venue for the Forum.

Canadian Energy Person of the Year 2005
The Canadian Energy Person of the Year Award was established by the Energy Council of Canada, supported by the sectoral energy associations of Canada, to recognize and pay tribute to leaders in Canada who have made a significant impact at both the national and international level with respect to energy.
The Canadian Energy Person of the Year is nominated for this prestigious annual award based on their remarkable accomplishments in the energy and business or government sectors, as well as the community at large.
Duncan Hawthorne, President and CEO of Bruce Power has been named Canadian Energy Person of the Year 2005. The celebration dinner will be held October 25, 2005 at the Liberty Grand in Toronto, Ontario.
