Canada's Energy Efficiency Awards have come a long way since the program was launched in 1999. Now it's time to make them better than ever.

As part of our commitment to continuous improvement, the Office of Energy Efficiency has launched a process to renew and revitalize Canada's Energy Efficiency Awards. We're working on improvements to broaden the program's reach, modify the awards criteria, and make it easier for businesses and others to submit nominations.

Energy Efficiency – It's Worth Celebrating!

Canadians celebrate achievements in the arts, sports and business – why not energy efficiency? After all, energy efficiency makes winners of us all!

Improving energy efficiency reduces greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to climate change. Being smart about how we use energy just makes sense, and the brightest ideas and boldest actions deserve recognition. Energy efficiency

  • is a key part of Canada's response to the global challenge of climate change – the less energy we consume, the fewer greenhouse gas emissions we produce
  • strengthens Canada's economy – it saves money, improves profitability and leads to new technologies and jobs
  • reduces smog-causing pollutants, which means cleaner air and healthier communities
