Benchmarking and Best Practices for Existing Buildings

The Energy Innovators Initiative (EII) wants to help you make the most of energy efficiency in your commercial and institutional buildings.

Benchmarking

Benchmarking means to take your energy intensity and compare it with other similar facilities. Best practices means using the most efficient equipment and procedures. We offer published guides for certain sectors, with more on the way, including:

Best Practices

EnerGuide for Industry offers technical information on equipment used in both industrial and non-industrial facilities. EII publications include technical fact sheets and other documents featuring best practices. To learn what other EII members have done in their organizations, read our EII case studies.

Financial Incentives

As well, we offer Energy Retrofit Assistance (ERA) funding to eligible organizations for retrofit planning and implementation that encourages benchmarking and best practices.
