The new Public Service Employment Act (PSEA) marks the most significant change in 35 years on how human resources are managed in the federal government. The new PSEA is designed to facilitate hiring the right people, when and where they are needed, while respecting the values of fairness, transparency and access.

The Public Service Commission (PSC) now plays a greater role in guidance and recourse in matters related to the political activities of federal public servants.

to three key groups: Canadians looking for employment in the federal
public service; employees of the federal public service and; human
resources (HR) specialists and hiring managers in federal departments
and agencies.
