Go for it!

A guide to choosing and using assistive devices

This 64-page booklet gives detailed information about the different types of assistive devices that are available and where to obtain them. It guides you through the selection process and directs you to other available resources should you need further assistance. Veterans, seniors and anyone else interested in making the everyday tasks of living a little easier and safer will find this information helpful.

The Go for it! booklet has been produced as part of the Health Canada/Veterans Affairs Canada Falls Prevention Initiative. It is available on the Health Canada site at:
www.hc-sc.gc.ca/seniors-aines/pubs/injury_prevention/go_for_it/goforit_toc_e.htm

Veterans Affairs Canada offers financial assistance to eligible clients who need to purchase assistive devices. Your access to these benefits depends on your eligibility status and your specific health needs. Certain limitations and restrictions also may apply. To find out if you are eligible for this type of support, please call your nearest VAC Regional or District Office. For more information about assistive devices available through VAC, see Programs of Choice 1: Aids for Daily Living.
