Thirteen young Canadians, representing the "Youth of Canada", accompanied the veterans back to the Netherlands for the 60th anniversary of its liberation. The youth were selected on individual merit and represented all of the provinces and territories within Canada. The focus of the youth participation was for them to learn more about the Canadian contribution to the Second World War, with particular focus on Canada and the Netherlands. While overseas, the youth delegates travelled with the veterans to Groesbeek and other Canadian War Cemeteries, where they made presentations to their peers about a deceased veteran they had researched prior to going overseas. As they reflect on their experience, their stories and images will be posted on this page. They will share with the veterans in commemorating the past, in order to pass the torch of remembrance on to young Canadians at home.
