POC 13 - Special Equipment

POC 13 provides special equipment required for the care and treatment of clients with disabilities or handicaps. This may include items such as hospital beds, lifts, home adaptations and wheelchairs. These benefits must be prescribed by a doctor and, in many cases, they must also be supported by the recommendation of another health professional. In most instances, providers must obtain authorization from the Department before the benefit can be provided.
