Veterans Affairs Canada: Proudly Serving Canada's Veteran Community
  July 2004

Congratulations Hallie!

Congratulations Hallie! For many years, former Nursing Sister Lieutenant-Colonel (Ret) Hallie Sloan has been a tireless force and inspiration within the Nursing Sisters' Association of Canada. She volunteers at the Perley Rideau Veterans Health Centre, is a familiar face at many commemorative events, and always welcomes the chance to share her memories with young people.

In 2004, the Governor General announced that Hallie had been named a Member of the Order of Canada. Last year, Hallie was presented with the Minister of Veterans Affairs Commendation. This award honours those who have made a special contribution to the well-being or remembrance of veterans.

If you'd like to learn more about the Minister of Veterans Affairs Commendation, or how to nominate someone, please visit our Web site at www.vac-acc.gc.ca and click on Minister's Commendation or call us at 1-866-522-2122 and ask for a nomination brochure.
