Where Do I Send My Health Claims?

At Veterans Affairs Canada, we've put in place several systems to help process your health claims. This is how you can help us serve you better.

  1. Healt Claims If you qualify for health benefits, you will be given a VAC health identification card. You can use this card to obtain health benefits that have been approved for you. When you use your card in Canada for benefits that have been approved for you, you will not have to pay for the benefit out of your pocket, send us receipts, or wait to be reimbursed.
Please Note:
  • Qualified Allied veterans who live in Canada, and Canadian clients who live outside Canada, must send their health claims and treatment plans to:
    • Foreign Countries Operations
      66 Slater Street, Room 1405
      Ottawa, ON Canada K1A 0P4
  • All claims related to the Veterans Independence Program (VIP) must be sent to:
    • National Veterans Independence
      Program Reimbursement Centre
      90 University Avenue, Suite 120
      Charlottetown, PE C1A 4K9
  • If you are not sure where to send a particular claim, please call us at 1-866-522-2122.
  1. If you live in Canada and you need to pay for a health benefit in Canada out of your own pocket, several centres across the country can process these claims. See below for a list of these centres, and what kind of claims they process. To process your claim, you will need to send us your client number, proof of payment, plus a copy of your treatment claim form and/or prescription.
