Comfort and Support

Courtesy of DND, 2004Retired members of the Canadian Forces and their families can now get support through the Pastoral Outreach Program. This program is jointly sponsored by the Department of National Defence and Veterans Affairs Canada. It can help former CF members, who are not members of a civilian parish, deal with many troubling matters, including "end-of-life" issues such as the terminal illness or death of a loved one. Many of the clergy who belong to this program know the military way of life and are familiar with the unique demands of retired life. For more information about this program and how to receive help, please call 1-800-883-6094 or visit their Web site at www.forces.gc.ca/centre .
