A Quality Job

CF client

CF Veterans tell us that a quality job is one of the most important things they need to help them return to civilian life. But if you work in certain parts of the Forces, such as combat arms or the sea trades, it may be hard to find a job elsewhere where those skills are needed.

The new Veterans Charter will make it easier for releasing Regular Force members, as well as some members of the Reserves, to get some practical help finding a job.

It will also be easier for former members of the Forces to be considered for certain jobs in the federal public service. For example, it may be possible to amend hiring rules in the federal government:

  • to give priority to CF Veterans who release for medical reasons; and
  • to allow CF members to apply for job openings in the federal government that were once only open to public servants.
