Surviving Children of CF Veterans

Surviving Children of CF Veterans Children of Canadian Forces veterans who die as a result of their military service or who were pensioned at 48% or greater at the time of their death may qualify for financial help if they want to continue their education after high school. This program replaces a similar one that was discontinued in 1995.

To qualify for this program, surviving children must:

  • be under the age of 30; and
  • attend a post-secondary school in Canada that is approved by Veterans Affairs Canada.

Qualified children will receive funds to help pay for their tuition, other education costs and a monthly living allowance.

Former students who attended a post-secondary school between March 1995 and August 2003 can also apply to have some of their education costs reimbursed.

Surviving children who want to apply for funding, or get more information about the program, can call 1-866-522-2122.
