VAC's Easy-to-Use Health Card
If you qualify for health benefits through our Department, we will send you a special VAC Health Identification Card. You can use this card to obtain health benefits that have been approved for you. Clients who regularly use their card tell us how simple it is to use.
They also like the fact that when they use it in Canada:
- they never have to pay for the benefit out of their own pocket;
- they never need to send us receipts; and
- they never wait to be reimbursed.
If you haven't already used your card, please consider giving it a "test drive" the next time you need a health benefit that has been approved for you. We promise you'll be impressed!

Psychological counselling is one of several health-related services available to eligible clients. Clients who qualify for this benefit will have an 'A' or a 'B' under POC 12 on their Health Identification Card. To expand the network of people who can provide this
service to clients, our Department is now registering social workers who meet specific requirements to provide psychological counselling services. This will help to shorten delays for clients in need of psychological counselling.
