Canada´s River Heritage:The Routes of Industry and Commerce

In addition to their priceless scenic beauty, many of Canada´s rivers have been instrumental n the development of our natural resource industries.

"The noblest stream in all Nova Scotia", the Margaree River is world-renowed for its salmon and gaspereau fisheries. The Margaree rises in the spectacular Cape Breton Highlands and courses down through farmland and wetlands before emptying into the Northumberland Strait. En route, it supports the area´s fishing, farming, logging and tourist insdustries.
