Your Gateway to Doing Business in Southeast Asia

Dear Canadian Food Exporter,

We have commenced planning for the Canadian Pavilion for Food & Hotel Asia 2006 (FHA 2006) to be held at the Singapore Expo April 25-28, 2006. Our goal is to provide the maximum value for money to Canadian agri-food exporters interested in participating in this prestigious event.

Through close collaboration with the organisers Singapore Exhibition Services (SES), we have developed a business plan that provides you, the potential exhibitor, with the lowest cost for a 9sqm booth. Your contact in Canada is Mr Derek Complin, President, UNILINK e-mail : dc@unilinkfairs.com.

There are several reasons why you should consider this: The best regional food show in South East Asia. In 2004, Food & Hotel Asia had 2,718 exhibitors from 61 countries and 37,012 trade visitors of which 36% came from the region. There was significant representation from China and India, two of the largest markets in the world. I have, over my career, been involved with several trade show organizations who manage food shows in the world. I can say without reservation that there is none better to work with than the FHA team at SES. Their promotion program for your products and your company's presence at the show in the region is first class. This year, they have added a new dimension that takes your participation beyond the exhibition - the Online Business Matching Programme. For a nominal fee of SGD$350, exhibitors enjoy 6 months of great publicity (3 months prior and 3 months after the exhibition). When you register early, you can also take advantage of their regional promotion program which is at no additional cost to you.

The country markets in South East Asia called ASEAN are not well known to many Canadian agrifood exporters. These markets however offer very significant potential to exporters who are willing to invest market development work in them. Remember there are 550 million consumers in ASEAN, of which 55 million have income levels and purchasing power equal to/greater than that in Canada. The economies in this region will grow at 5 to 6 % in 2005, according to the Asian Development Bank, a better growth rate than most markets of the world. The number of consumers are growing daily who can afford value added Canadian food products.

The *Canadian Pavilion offers one-to-one matched meetings with companies suited and interested in distributing your products. Also available is the pre-screening of potential distributors for your products throughout this region when you provide us with detailed product information in advance. This work will be carried out by the ASEAN Agri-food Team who is here to help your business succeed in the region. Visit our website: ats.agr.ca/asean/welcome-e.htm.

Join us at the Canadian Pavilion and we look forward to helping you prepare for a successful show at FHA2006. Visit the following website, www.unilinkfairs.com/cp/fha06/, for more information and to register.
