The Sponge Parks are a critical part of the Gowanus Canal Masterplan. #CitiesAlive2018 Keynote Speaker Susannah Drake, Founding Principal of @dlandstudio to discuss how the firm initiated and designed the Gowanus Canal Sponge Park! DLANDstudio raised all of the design and construction funding for this pilot project which was completed in 2016.
One of the best Architects of Sustainable Architecture in Latin America, Fernando Ortiz Monasterio has dedicated his career to decrease the gray seen in Mexico City and increase Vertical Gardens and Green Space. Fernando co-founded Verde Vertical and is running a project called 'Via Verde' that is installing and maintaining over 1,000 green columns with more than 2 million plants along Mexico City's Beltway expressway. This new half-day course from the Green Infrastructure Foundation helps decision makers understand the principles behind the economic valuation of green infrastructure benefits.
