youth Youth Information Products and Services help young Canadians make informed decisions about their education, employment and career development.

Youth Information Products and Services include

  • 1 800 O-Canada (1 800 622-6232) provides information about the Government of Canada’s programs and services.

  • Youth Info Line (1 800 935-5555) provides information about the Youth Employment Strategy’s programs and services available to youth, businesses, community organizations and the general public.

  • youth.gc.ca offers employment and career-related information for youth. The web site includes information for youth, employers, career counsellors, parents, educators, and community groups.

  • Service Canada Centres for Youth (SCCY) offices, which are a component of the Summer Work Experience program, provide job posting services to recipients and employers and offer services to youth to help them prepare their entry into the labour market. These offices are normally open from May to August each year. To locate the nearest office, call 1 800 935-5555.

Publications

  • Youth Link includes close to 200 programs, services and resources available for youth between 15 and 30. This guide is also a valuable resource for employers, career counsellors, parents, educators and community groups.

  • Looking for a Job helps to guide youth through the job search process. It offers self-assessment tools and information on how to apply for a job and prepare for an interview. It also provides information on today’s job market and identifies the skills employers are looking for in an employee.
