Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of International Trade and Minister for the Pacific Gateway and the Vancouver-Whistler Olympics - Helena Guergis
Simcoe–Grey (Ontario) Helena Guergis was elected in 2004 and re-elected in 2006. She has served as Critic for International Cooperation and the Canadian International Development Agency and been a member of the standing committees on the Status of Women, on Foreign Affairs and International Trade and on Citizenship and Immigration, and the subcommittees on International Trade Disputes and on Human Rights. Prior to her election, she was a policy adviser to the Ontario finance minister, Janet Ecker, and worked for the Progressive Conservative member of the Ontario legislature, Joe Tascona. She has also been a businesswoman. Ms. Guergis was born in Barrie , Ontario , in 1969.
