Occupational and Skills Initiatives are important to supporting an environment of life-long learning. In the present era, it is critical that Canadians -- both employers and employees -- be able to maintain cutting edge skills through workplace-based learning. Workplace-based learning will only succeed if participants have the essential skills base from which other skill sets can be built. To facilitate these Skills Initiatives, the government of Canada works with a wide range of partners -- both sector-based and non-sector based.

This initiative is managed by the Human Resources Partnerships Directorate. Find out more about the Human Resources Partnerships Directorate and related Programs and Services.
