Minister McCallum announces funding for charities

John McCallum, Minister of National Revenue will launch the Charities Partnership and Outreach Program at a gathering of voluntary sector stakeholders on May 17, 2005.

This is an innovative approach to increasing the level of awareness in the Charities community. It will provide funding to those charities that undertake activities to raise awareness of their obligations under the Income Tax Act and enable the voluntary sector to develop and deliver programs destined to increase the capacity of charities to meet their obligations.

The Minister will be available to the media after his speech.
