Purpose	For persons aged between 60 and 64 who wish to apply for the Allowance. The Allowance is a non-taxable monthly benefit paid to the spouse or common-law partner of someone who receives the Old Age Security pension and the Guaranteed Income Supplement. The Allowance is also payable to a widowed person who has low income. This application can be completed on-screen. It must then be printed, signed and returned by mail with all required documents.
