PETTIGREW - APEC TRADE MINISTERS MEETING IN MEXICO

Media representatives are advised that International Trade Minister Pierre Pettigrew is attending the 14th APEC Meeting of Ministers Responsible for Trade, in Los Cabos, Mexico, from October 23 to 25.

While in Los Cabos, Mr. Pettigrew will also attend the APEC 2002 CEO Summit and participate in a panel discussion entitled "NAFTA Works and Strengthens Mexico for APEC Competition." In addition, Minister Pettigrew will undertake a series of bilateral meetings with his APEC counterparts on the margins of the APEC meetings.
