PETTIGREW - TRADE MISSION TO AFRICA

Media representatives are advised that International Trade Minister Pierre Pettigrew will visit South Africa, Nigeria and
Senegal as leader of the Canada Trade Mission from November 16 to 26.
On Monday, November 18, in Johannesburg, South Africa, Mr. Pettigrew will deliver an address at a plenary session. The
Minister will then attend the inauguration of the offices of Somuthwa Technologies, a joint venture with the Canadian firm
Shopplex.com. Later that evening, he is scheduled to attend a contract signing ceremony.
On Tuesday, November 19, in Johannesburg, Mr. Pettigrew will meet with South African Minister for Trade and Industry
Alec Erwin. Later that day, Mr. Pettigrew will deliver a keynote address at the annual general meeting of the South Africa-Canada Chamber of Business.
On Thursday, November 21, in Lagos, Nigeria, Mr. Pettigrew will meet with President Olusegun Obasanjo. In the evening,
he will attend a contract signing ceremony. On Friday, November 22, the Minister will meet the Governor of Lagos State,
Bola Tinubu.
On Saturday, November 23, in Dakar, Senegal, Mr. Pettigrew will meet with Aicha Agne Pouye, Minister for Small and
Medium-sized Entreprises and Trade. On Monday, November 25, the Minister will deliver an address at a plenary session.
