EGGLETON TO MEET BUSINESS, POLITICAL LEADERS
IN GERMANY AND SWITZERLAND
Minister for International Trade Art Eggleton will meet with German Economics
Minister Gunter Rexrodt and German business leaders in Bonn and attend the World
Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, January 29-February 2.
"There is great potential for increased German investment in Canada," said Mr.
Eggleton today. "And, as the world's third-largest economy, Germany offers a rich
export market for Canadian products. More business with Germany means more jobs
for Canadians."
While in Germany, Mr. Eggleton will meet Mr. Rexrodt in Bonn to discuss bilateral
and multilateral trade and investment matters. He will also discuss the
advantages of investing and doing business with Canada with representatives of the
German Chambers of Industry and Commerce.
Mr. Eggleton, along with Industry Minister John Manley, will participate in
sessions organized by the prestigious World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos. The
two ministers will take part in a special WEF lunch featuring Canada and in other
forum panels. The WEF conference includes top business executives and political
leaders from around the world.
"This is an ideal opportunity to exchange ideas and information with key decision
makers," Mr. Eggleton said.
