Canada Customs and Revenue Agency provides 1-800 service with extended hours for general tax enquiries

Ottawa, February 21, 2000... The Canada Customs and Revenue Agency (CCRA) announced today that it is launching a new 1-800 network with extended hours of service for Canadians with general tax enquiries.

Agent-assisted hours, during tax season (until April 30), are between 8:15 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., Monday to Friday (except holidays). On Saturdays and Sundays, agents are available between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. All times are local. Outside of these hours, an automated system will allow callers to access tax information by using their touch-tone telephone keypad.
