Revenue Canada issues August Canada Child Benefit payments

OTTAWA, August 20, 1998...The August Canada Child Tax Benefit (CCTB) enhanced payments, which Revenue Canada issued in July for the first time as part of the new National Child Benefit federal program, should reach recipients by August 20, 1998. Revenue Canada expects to issue $463,700,644.46 in CCTB payments to 2,776,451 recipients across Canada this month.

Clients can have these payments deposited directly into their accounts at their financial institutions. To take advantage of this option, clients have to complete Form T1-DD, Direct Deposit Request, which they can get at their tax services office or tax centre. Both spouses have to file a tax return to receive CCTB payments.
