Minister Cauchon launches new Corporate Identity for Canada Customs and Revenue Agency

Ottawa, March 1, 2001... The Honourable Martin Cauchon, Minister of National Revenue and Secretary of State responsible for the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the regions of Quebec, today launched a new corporate identity for the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency (CCRA) at a noon event as part of the Second National Symposium on Fairness. The Symposium, organized by the Conference Board of Canada, is reviewing the progress that the CCRA has made in implementing Setting a New Standard: A 7-Point Plan for Fairness.

Mr. Cauchon noted that one of the actions set out in the 7-Point Plan, released in February 1999, addressed the need for improved communications with clients.

The new corporate identity presents CCRA clients with a unified and consistent design approach for information products, the Minister said. This strong graphic identity reinforces the CCRA's commitment to improve communications with its clients, he added.

"Accountability is an essential element in our commitment to being fair as an Agency, and in order to be accountable, we need to be visible and clearly recognizable to the individuals we serve," said Mr. Cauchon. "The new corporate identity underlines the CCRA's new commitment to client service and will help reinforce its slogan More Ways to Serve You."

The distinctive design approach will be applied to CCRA publications, advertising, Internet applications, and other communications materials. To view the new CCRA corporate identity, visit the CCRA Web site at http://www.ccra-adrc.gc.ca/
