The Aerodrome Safety division is responsible for
ensuring that Canadian airports are operated safely.
- Aerodrome certification.
- Physical inspections of airports and aerodromes.
- Assessment of applications for the development of new or modified
aerodromes.
- Development of aerodrome noise abatement procedures.
- Assessment and approval of Airport Operations Manuals.
- Obstacle assessment to insure proper notification, marking and
lighting of antennas, towers, buildings, cables, etc.
- Review and approval of airport emergency response capabilities.
