The Aerodrome Safety division is responsible for ensuring that Canadian airports are operated safely.

  • Aerodrome certification.
  • Physical inspections of airports and aerodromes.
  • Assessment of applications for the development of new or modified aerodromes.
  • Development of aerodrome noise abatement procedures.
  • Assessment and approval of Airport Operations Manuals.
  • Obstacle assessment to insure proper notification, marking and lighting of antennas, towers, buildings, cables, etc.
  • Review and approval of airport emergency response capabilities.
