The Singapore Government recognises that the rational and responsible management of bioethical issues is integral and critical to Singapore's development effort in biomedical sciences. In December 2000, the Cabinet appointed the Bioethics Advisory Committee to address the potential ethical, legal and social issues arising from biomedical sciences research in Singapore.
