Sunday 23 February 2003 | Abbotsford

NRC-IRAP employees received two awards at the 2003 NRC Outstanding Achievement Awards ceremony, held in Ottawa on February 25, 2004.

Each year these corporate-level awards celebrate the achievements of NRC employees who have performed at high levels of excellence and made significant contributions to NRC and to Canada. Judith Bergeron, Coordinator of the Canadian Technology Network (CTN) Quebec, was presented with the Regional and Community Innovation Award for her role in developing regional innovation support structures in Quebec. Ms. Bergeron has been the driving force behind the success of CTN Quebec. Thanks to her efforts, CTN Quebec has grown year after year. The network currently consists of 117 member organizations and a network of 70 counsellors ready to connect technology-based SMEs with innovation expertise and services.

Ms. Bergeron has also been instrumental in identifying and filling gaps in innovation services for SMEs in the region. The creation of the CTN Regional Innovation Network and the launch of Quorum, a network of more than 100 private consultants offering innovation support services to SMEs, are just two examples of her many innovations in this area.
