Advanced Products and Technology Group
CSTT’s Advanced Products and Technology Group (APT) is the heart of our
R&D program and the source of our IP-based products and technology.
APT’s mission is to produce leading technologies that both succeed in the
marketplace and support CSTT’s world-leading clients.
Focus On Innovation
APT concentrates on:
- technologies and innovations,
- electro-mechanical systems,
- heavy vehicle running gear,
- software and IT applications.
As a specialist R&D group, Advanced Products and Technology leverages
the knowledge of "domain experts" throughout CSTT. CSTT’s innovation process draws project concepts from researchers,
engineers, and technicians who see needs and opportunities every day,
and put the two together.
Our business managers draw concepts from partners and clients, and develop
technologies and products with them in both strategic and tactical partnering
teams.
APT also scans the world for technology concepts, opportunities and partners.
All staff at CSTT are alert and probing for opportunities for CSTT – and for
you.
Partnerships for Success
Some of APT's most impressive partners are CSTT’s sister Institutes
of the National Research Council. These exceptional R&D labs have
a world-leading array of technology in:
- structures,
- materials,
- aerodynamics,
- hydrodynamics,
- information technology,
- manufacturing,
- construction,
- the
human working environment,
- habitability and many, many more.
CSTT takes a venture capitalist mindset when evaluating new candidate
R&D projects, as well as projects already in the portfolio.
We manage each project’s progression through a stage-gate process.
And we overlay it all with a "third-generation" R&D approach
to linking technology and strategy for the organization – and for
its clients and partners.
Enter the World of Technical Intelligence
If your company or agency is innovating and needs technology, or if you
have technology and need a partner, or if you have a problem and need
solutions, CSTT and its Advanced Products and Technology Group can bring
to you a world of technical intelligence, R&D contacts, domain experts,
business connections, and leading technologies – from CSTT, from
the National Research Council’s network of laboratories, and from
around the world.
