Links (or "hyperlinks")
Enable Canada Health Portal (CHP) users to navigate throughout the content of the Web pages. There are different types of links, but text links, which usually appear as underlined text in a different color, are the most common. The text or object that users click can also be called a "hotspot."

Appearance
By default, text links are displayed in blue. The colors of normal, active, and visited links change colours. When users move the mouse over the text, the pointer changes to indicate that the text is clickable and will perform an action.

Destination
When users click a link, they go to a destination. The destination is most commonly another topic, although different Help formats provide various levels of linking. For example, the destination can be to a local topic, an external topic in another HTML Help system, a bookmark, frameset, intranet site, Web page, FTP site, or newsgroup.

Destinations can also play sound or video clips and can even open electronic mail programs and display predefined email addresses so users can compose content and send messages.
