Offers resources on brain cancer, including warning signs and symptoms, causes and risk factors, diagnosis, support, and treatment.
Brain cancer starts in the cells of the brain. The brain is a soft mass of nerves (neurons) and supportive tissue (glial cells), surrounded by membranes (meninges) and protected by the skull. Brain cancer can involve either the neurons or the glial cells. Most adult cancers start in the glial cells and are called astrocytomas or gliomas. Rarer adult brain tumours include oligodendrogliomas and lymphomas.
