What is non-Hodgkin's lymphoma? Canadian Cancer Society

Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma is a group of cancers that start in the cells of the lymphatic system. Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma usually starts in the lymphocyte cells of one or more lymph nodes. The abnormal cells may stay in the lymph nodes or they may spread to other parts of the lymphatic system.

Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) is cancer of the cells of the lymphatic system. In non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, cells in the lymphatic system divide and grow without order or control, or old cells do not die as cells normally do.
