The Canadian Association of Transplantation (CAT) is a national association whose members have built a caring and professional foundation for the transplantation process in Canada. Every year, National Organ and Tissue Donation Awareness Week is a primary focus for CAT to increase public and professional knowledge of donation and transplantation. Overall, the members of CAT remain committed to facilitating and enhancing the transplant process in Canada.

The GiveLife Web site was developed to assist Canadians in making informed decisions regarding organ, tissue and bone marrow donation. This site provides some national information regarding organ and tissue donation, but more importantly acts as a portal to the many provincial organizations that are mandated to oversee organ and tissue donation programs across the country.

Many New Brunswickers are waiting to hear that organs and tissues have been found which could restore them to full and active lives. There is a critical shortage of organs and issues to be used for transplants. Most people who need a transplant can only wait and hope.

Quebec-Transplant is the official organization mandated by the Health and Social Services Ministry to ensure the coordination of organ donation in Quebec.

The Government of Ontario created Trillium Gift of Life Network to help save and enhance lives by maximizing organ and tissue donations for transplantation. Organ donation from one individual can help dozens of others. Tissue donation from one individual can help up to 100 others. And living donation is becoming an increasingly important source of organs for transplant.
