Long Range Plan for Canadian Astronomy and Astrophysics


The Long Range Planning Panel was established in the summer of 1998 by the National Research Council of Canada and the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada with the full participation of the Canadian Astronomical Society (CASCA).

Its goal was to develop a comprehensive view and decadal program for astronomy and astrophysics in Canada. The foremost requirement was to articulate a vision that represented the consensus of the Canadian astronomical community and truly reflected its needs.

In 2004, a formal mid-term review of progress against the Long Range Plan was conducted. Its report (PDF) is likewise available on the CASCA web site.
