The Canada Health Portal (CHP) is the single-window on-line access to citizen-centered, fully integrated authoritative and trusted health information and services across organizational and jurisdictional boundaries.

Mission:
To empower Canadians to make informed decisions that improve and sustain their health.

The CHP will achieve this by providing:

  • authoritative, trusted health information across health jurisdictions;
  • one-stop shopping for health information;
  • access to previously inaccessible or difficult to find government information and services; and
  • access to all Canadians whether they live in urban, rural, remote or foreign centres, via electronic channels.

Federal Government departments are currently the primary content contributors, but the portal is expanding to include:

  • provincial and territorial information and services;
  • municipal information and services;
  • international government health organizations; and
  • not-for profit health-related organizations.
