Ergonomiques

Staying comfortable and healthy while using your computer

  • The top of your monitor should be at eye level

  • inches from your head

  • Don't let reflection give you a headache or fatigue your eyes - make your monitor perpendicular to the window, or make a hood or shade for your monitor out of cardboard (don't cover ventilation slats of holes)

  • Fold up or roll an old hand towel and place it at the foot of your keyboard where you rest your wrists. You can also use that bubble wrap stuff. Try taping down the towel or bubble wrap so it won't unfold or slip.

  • Prop up a document on a clipboard so that the document is not laying on a flat surface and strain your neck

  • Contours of your chair should support your lower and upper back and your feet should be able to rest flat on the floor

  • You should have your desk just above elbow height.
