Company Creation

Company Creation Highlights

NRC has a long track record in creating new companies based on NRC research and technology. It has created over 60 firms since 1995, resulting in hundreds of new jobs and hundreds of millions of dollars in new investment for Canada.

Often the fastest and most effective way to commercialize a new technology or product is to create a new Canadian company.

That venture can either be a spin-off firm (formed by NRC employees) or a spin-in (formed by a non-NRC entrepreneur).

Since 1995-1996, NRC technologies have led to the creation of over 60 new companies in Canada.
