What Works Conference 2006

What Works in the Community Reintegration of High-Risk Offenders

November 21 – 23, 2006
Ottawa, Ontario

The third instalment of the highly successful What Works conference series will take place on November 21 - 23, 2006, at the Fairmont Chateau Laurier in Ottawa. This year’s conference, a joint venture between Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness Canada (PSEPC) and the National Joint Committee of Senior Criminal Justice Officials (NJC), will focus on the establishment of national best practice strategies to promote the safe community integration of high-risk offenders.

Plenary sessions and specialized workshops will feature topics such as what works in the treatment of high-risk offenders; in post-release coordination; and in post-sentence management, just to name a few. The conference will also explore the application of Section 810 recognizance orders, as well as present an international perspective on achieving the safe reintegration of high-risk offenders.
