Electronic Reporting to FINTRAC: Batch

Batch reporting is the submission of multiple reports in one file. To use this you have to create the batch file and format the information according to FINTRAC's specifications. FINTRAC will provide you with the software to encrypt and transmit the batch file. In addition to FINTRAC's enrolment process for electronic reporting, there is a two-step process as follows:

  • Step 1: Obtain a Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) certificate and download the reporting software (ViaSafe).  Find out more.

  • Step 2:   Assure data formatting according to FINTRAC's batch specifications by sending files through a testing channel.  Find out more.

Even those who send reports by batch will need an administrator for F2R to maintain certain information about locations, contacts, etc.
